Born in 1948 in Chicago's Marquette Park, Gregory Adamski attended Xavier University where he earned an undergraduate degree in history (1970) and a masters degree in history (1971). He attended law school at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he was the Law Review Articles Editor, earning his degree in 1973. He graduated in the top 10 of his class.

Mr. Adamski was employed for two years as a federal law clerk for Judge Richard B. Austin in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He then worked as an associate for Winston & Strawn, where he was elected partner in 1979, at the age of 30.

During his eight years as an associate and partner of Winston & Strawn, Mr. Adamski performed more free volunteer work than any of his colleagues and started and developed the firm's first pro bono program, devoting over 1,500 hours to volunteer matters.

Mr. Adamski left Winston & Strawn in 1983 to form Carponelli, Krug & Adamski, spent a number of years as a solo practitioner, and, since 1990, has been a partner of Adamski & Conti, concentrating in civil and criminal trial and appellate litigation.

Mr. Adamski is licensed to practice in Illinois (1973), the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, including the Trial Bar (1973), the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois (1998) the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit (1975) the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit (2002), the United States Supreme Court (1978). He has appeared in jurisdictions nationwide in civil and criminal matters.

During his 35 years of pratice, Mr. Adamski has tried over 200 civil and criminal trials, argued over 60 appeals throughout the United States, and litigated matters in the following areas: medical and legal professional regulation, injunctions, commercial litigation, contracts, probate, civil rights, criminal and white collar criminal defense, domestic relations, adoption and custody disputes, employment discrimination, business torts, trade secrets, and professional negligence. Mr. Adamski is currently on the panel of Federal Defenders, an experienced and select group of criminal litigators who represent all types of federal criminal defendants.

Mr. Adamski lectures and writes about family and criminal law matters, the death penalty and practical lawyering skills. He sits on the board of directors Lake Shore Animal Shelter.

Mr. Adamski is heavily involved in academics. For 5 years, he has assisted in teaching the Chicago Litigation Course for the University of Illinois College of Law. The one-week intensive course is geared to provide the students with a realistic experience of the substance and form of Cook County litigation. For 4 years, Mr. Adamski has been an Adjunct Law Professor at the College teaching the School's first death penalty course.

Mr. Adamski served as a professor at the National Student Leadership Conference at Stanford University program teaching trial advocacy skills (1998) and as a volunteer judge at Northwestern University Law School, John Marshall Law School, and Loyola University Law School (1975-present).

He lectures and writes widely and exclusively for schools, universities, and community groups on a variety of topics including the death penalty, criminal defense issues, and civil rights. In 2000, he shared the podium with Rubin "Hurricane" Carter discussing the death penalty and wrongful convictions before an audience at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

For 4 years, Mr. Adamski was the co-producer and co-host of "Chicago Law", a legal radio talk show on WJJD (1994-1998). Mr. Adamski won 5 Achievement In Radio Awards, most notably for Best Public Affairs Program. He currently hosts a weekly radio legal talk show on 720 WGN.
